PLEASE NOTE: This is one of two sessions. This hike will take place from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm and the second from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm. Please only sign up for one of these sessions to leave space for other families. Click here to register.

Join Berkshire Natural Resources Council and Berkshire Family Hikes for a Haunted Hike featuring tricks, treats, and a spooky storytime. Costumes are encouraged! The haunted hike is intended for smaller children; nothing about it is meant to be frightening.

Directions:

From the center of Dalton: take Route 8 south to the Hinsdale line. From the town line, continue 4/10 miles to a left on Old Dalton Road. The trailhead parking is the first, immediate left, across from the Hinsdale Trading Company. GPS: 42.4480, -73.1305 (trailhead parking)

Haunted Pittsfield for Kids! An Urban Hike

Taylor Staubach of Berkshire Family Hikes leads this family-friendly version of the classic ghost tour. Appropriate for all ages. Spooky fun with a dash of local history in this child-oriented walk. The tour takes place along Pittsfield downtown and run approximately 60 minutes, with six to eight stops along an ADA accessible route of city sidewalks/crosswalks. Participants should meet at the front entrance of the Pittsfield Library.

Inclement weather cancels. Tour groups are strictly limited by size, and advance registration is required. Tickets are $6 per person; children are $4 for the family friendly walk. Collected by Venmo, email taylor@berkshirefamilyhikes.com to sign up.

Family Fall Discovery Hike

What trees turn red? How about yellow or orange? Autumn is the perfect time for an inquisitive walk through the woods. Join Berkshire Family Hikes for a morning of exploration along the Old Mill Trail in Dalton. The trail is considered easy – 1.4 miles roundtrip and a relatively flat surface. Kids will be able to choose a few leaves to preserve in beeswax for a fun fall leaf garland! Click here to register.

Family Summer Hike

Lake Mansfield Family Adventure Program

Have you ever held a tiny turtle or gazed into the eyes of a charming milk snake? Have you explored a deeply shaded woodland and climbed a boulder placed there by ancient glaciers?

No? Fear not! Taylor Staubach and Tom Tyning are welcoming adventurous families to a hands-on, let's get moving program at Lake Mansfield this July so that families can get up close and personal with creatures that we usually only get to glimpse and then head out on a forest expedition of exploration.
